This knowledge based course will give you the industry knowledge required to land that first job and start an exciting career in the Travel and Tourism industry. It’s a great course for those deciding whether a career in Travel and Tourism is for them or for industry beginners.
Completing this course will give you the background knowledge of the industry that normally takes new employees around 2 years to gain. It will also give you the confidence you need at those all important job interviews.
You’ll learn about the Industry’s sectors, companies and their inter-relationships, what the employees of Travel companies do each day and you’ll get answers to the many questions you may have about this dynamic industry.

You will learn about the impacts of tourism, different tourism markets, the industry sectors and their services, major tourism bodies, environmental issues, career opportunities, and the growing importance of e-business. You will also learn to correctly identify the various sources of information on the tourism industry.
The course will train you to update tourism industry knowledge, to monitor current issues of concern to the industry and share updated industry knowledge with clients and colleagues.
Computer Reservations Systems Training
A Computer Reservation system known as a CRS is also called a GDS in some markets. This is a short term for a Global Distribution System. You will learn how to check for airline seat availability, make, amend and cancel client bookings, quote airfares, issue e-tickets and many more travel industry processes – you will actually be doing what Travel Industry Employees do each day while learning a great deal about the airline and agency sectors. You can select from Amadeus, Abacus, Galileo or Sabre.

The Basic Starters Package will introduce you to the world and terminology of Travel and Tourism. Ideal for those with no previous industry experience as this course outlines the background information knowledge and skills that industry employees usually take about a year to learn and absorb - all they need to know to apply for jobs and start that entry level position.
This course will give students the confidence to attend job interviews as they will understand the industry’s terminology, sectors, markets, inter-relationships.

Introduction to Travel and Tourism
The course is divided into topics, each topic is broken into lessons (14) and Online Quizes (7). It is important to take each quiz as the questions reinforce the learning process and help you to remember the key learning points. You should complete the material within one month for maximum retention but you have access to the material for 3 months after registration at which time your access will expire. By this time you should have also completed the final assessment tasks.

After successful completion of Introduction to the Travel and Tourism Industry you will be able to understand the industry’s terminology, sectors, markets, inter-relationships and gain a background knowledge of the industry which takes years to learn.
After successful completion of the Computer Reservations Systems Training you will be competent in the skills required to book client itineraries, fare quote and issue e-tickets. Choose from Amadeus, Galileo or Sabre.
What do I need
Good English Skills and a genuine interest in the Travel and Tourism Industry. Hayton College courses are accessed from a computer using the internet. Basic PC skills along with keyboarding skills are required to complete Hayton College courses.
